Probably best known as Uncle Vernon in the "Harry Potter" films Griffiths died of complications following heart surgery. A versatile and lauded actor Griffiths had a long and distinguished stage career that ran parallel to his hi-profile movie work which, besides "Potter", included such films as "The Naked Gun 2 1/2", "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and "Hugo".
