Guy Pearce signs on for "Iron Man 3"

Guy Pearce is experiencing a career surge of late. "Lockout" in which he takes an unlikely turn in the action hero seat is currently in theaters and doing reasonably well. "Prometheus" in which he plays legendary (fictional) businessman Peter Weyland opens wide on June 8th and now Variety reports that Pearce has signed on to play Aldrich Killian a character from the Iron Man comic book story "Extremis" for the upcoming "Iron Man 3".

Pearce will play alongside Robert Downey Jr and Ben Kingsley who, it was announced recently, will take on an as-yet-unspecified villain role for the picture.
