| Renner prepares to go back out in Phuket. |
Anyone who's spent more than 24 hours in Thailand with their eyes open knows that it's pretty freakin' far from being the "Land of Smiles" their PR would have you believe. Jeremy Renner apparently learned all about that in an up close and personal way a couple of days ago. Sitting in a hotel bar in seemingly idyllic Phuket Renner found himself in the middle of a typical Thai "disagreement" as several men, members of the hotel staff, attacked a patron with knives and at least one axe. That patron was Renner's friend and local resort manager Vorasit Issara who was besieged by at least 6 locals intent on causing him grave bodily harm. Vorasit was left with stab wounds in the stomack and an axe wound in the neck. Renner apparently exited at the first sign of trouble and was uninjured. He has refused to confirm whether or not the assailants were smiling as they chopped into his friend's flesh.
