"Dredd 3D" bombs at the box office

Judgement is here, and it's harsh!

The $50 million remake of the Sylvester Stallone, Rob Schneider fiasco carved out territory all its own in the annals of film bombography taking in a paltry $6.3 million (estimated) over its opening weekend. The slo-mo box office results are a bit of a mystery (to me anyway) as I thought the film (which I admit I haven't seen yet) looked reasonably interesting from the promotional materials released. At least star Karl Urban wasn't walking around with his helmet off!

It remains to be seen if overseas box office will save the day for the Judges but at the very least the domestic results should silence all that sequel talk that's been making the rounds the past week.
