No "Avatar 4" says Jon Landau

Anticipation was running high among Pandoraphiles a while back when James Cameron said in an interview that he was in the business of making Avatar films... "Period. That's it. I'm making 'Avatar 2,' 'Avatar 3,' maybe 'Avatar 4.'" The rumor mill was further stoked when Sigourney Weaver said she'd be showing up to work on 3 sequels whenever production finally got under way. Well, producer Jon Landau - Cameron's right hand man for a couple of decades now - has officially put the kibosh on all the "Avatar 4" talk. In a conversation with the courier-post he had this to say about the future of Cameron's Avatar business: “We doing two back-to-back, but not a third”.

Not a lot to add to that. Looking forward to #2 regardless, which may or may not hit theaters by its theoretical release date of December 2014.
