"300" sequel gets a new name

Xerxes contemplates a name change

Previously titled "300: Battle of Artemesia" the sequel to Zack Snyder's 2006 hit has been given (what seems to me like) the more nondescript title of "300: Rise of an Empire". Just why the new name is anyone's guess.

The film, starring Eva Green and Rodrigo Santoro is currently in production and set to open August 2nd of next year. It will, like the first film, use a Frank Miller story as its point of departure.
