New image from "Hercules the Thracian Wars"

Courtesy of star Dwayne Johnson, this image from director Brett Ratner’s mythological musing is extremely easy on the eye in an otherworldly way. That alone puts this project on the map for me.

Look for "Hercules the Thracian Wars" next July.

"Dom Hemingway" - trailer

Jude Law stars as a gangster recently released from prison who receives a nice cash bonus for keeping his mouth shut and doing the time only to somehow misplace all the cash. Is it a spoiler to say he's not happy about that?

"Dom Hemingway" opens stateside in April 2014.

First trailer for "Robocop"

This new version of the 80's sorta-classic stars Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton (Michael Keaton? Yes, he's back! sorta) and looks to take full advantage of the advances in special effects technology made over the past quarter century. Will it work? Who knows? Here's the trailer.

"Robocop" opens February 7, 2014.

Harrison Ford and Ahnuld on the set of Expendables 3

Principal photography is officially underway in Bulgaria (Yes, Bulgaria) for the 3rd part of Sylvester Stallone's action franchise. The Governator snapped this photo of himself, director Patrick Hughes and Harrison Ford on the set during the first day of filming and posted it to his instagram account yesterday.

He should have plenty of other photo ops coming up with  Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson and Wesley Snipes also on board.

"Expendables 3" opens August 15, 2014.

New trailer for "300: Rise of an Empire"

This new trailer doesn't cover a lot of new ground but there's less of Eva Green's massive forehead and more of Lena Headey in it; which can only be a good thing. Noam Murro directs.

"300: Rise of an Empire" opens March 7, 2014.

First trailer for "300: Rise of an Empire"

I don't know if I've ever seen a full length trailer that was almost completely slo-motion as is the case with this first trailer for the "300" sequel. That said, the golden "days-of-yore" look is pretty cool and on balance it looks like it'll be a decent fantasy film. Check it out.

"300: Rise of an Empire" opens March 2014.
