The reception for "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters" at the US box office was tepid at best with the wanna-be blockbuster earning a decidedly un-blockbuster-esque $54 million. Thing is overseas audiences were much more forgiving of the film's many shortcomings and dropped something in the neighborhood of $150 million of their hard-earned on the film. That means that with a budget of $50 million H&G actually made money. Enough money to warrant a sequel, which Paramount intends to deliver, domestic indifference or not.
